Join us for an introduction to the Standard Architecture for Trusted Research Environments (SATRE)—part of the broader TREvolution project.

Over the next two years, SATRE will play a central role in shaping how Trusted Research Environments (TREs) are designed, developed, and implemented across the UK. This event will provide an overview of SATRE’s aims, its importance to the future of secure and efficient data research, and the key topics we’ll be exploring as part of the TREvolution project.

This event is designed to offer a simple and engaging introduction to the SATRE segment of the TREvolution for the public and all stakeholders with an interest in TREs. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the project’s goals, share their views, and take part in breakout discussions focused on specific themes. Whether you’re new to the concept of TREs or already involved in the space, your voice is welcome as we work towards a trusted and standardised approach to creating research environments.

SATRE topics to be introduced:

  • Federation
  • Scoring or capability maturity models
  • Data tiering
  • How to extend SATRE
  • International relevance
  • Governance
  • Accreditation

Speakers: Dr Simon Li, Dr Christian Cole, Tim Machin, Antony Chuter

Who should attend: Members of the public, researchers, TRE maintainers or users, and anyone who has an interest in finding out about and contributing to the best practices and knowledge of TREs.
