DARE UK Community Groups
Working groups
DARE UK community working groups are created to meet specific objectives that align with the DARE UK programme within a defined timeframe. They address unique challenges, from creating tools and policies to innovative solutions.
DARE UK community working groups unite problem solvers and strategists from across the UK data research sphere to tackle specific sensitive data research challenges.
DARE UK community working groups are purpose-driven teams assembled to achieve a specific goal. They are designed to tackle discrete challenges, which can span a wide range, from developing tools and policies to exploring new practices and creating innovative solutions or proof of concepts. They operate under a short-term framework, typically lasting less than 18 months, and their mission is to tackle well-defined, tractable pieces of work, all within the broad scope of the DARE UK programme.
DARE UK working groups are often linked to a broader DARE UK community interest group. This collaboration ensures that the community’s collective efforts address both overarching challenges and specific issues. Each output produced by a working group is given a unique Digital Object Identifier (DOI) and linked to the DARE UK Zenodo Community. This ensures that their work becomes a part of DARE UK’s shared body of knowledge with the broader sensitive data research community.
Working groups endorsed by DARE UK
Establishing or joining a working group
DARE UK community working groups are subject to an endorsement process before they are established and are guided by a code of conduct to ensure that community management best practices are upheld. To propose a working group, outline your proposal using this Working Group Charter template and send it to enquiries@dareuk.org.uk. The DARE UK team will carefully review your submission with the programme leadership and inform you of the outcome via email once a decision has been made.
Working groups are open to anyone to propose, join and/or contribute to. We invite all those interested in sensitive data research to propose relevant groups or join existing ones to help grow the sensitive data research community.
For enquiries, please send an email to communities@dareuk.org.uk.
